System Design/Layout
First, we can provide you with an optimal system layout for your property.
We are sure that you don't want to invest a lot of your time and plenty of physical labour installing a system that doesn't provide the coverage you anticipated. We have the equipment and the experience to promptly design the optimal layout for your propertry. Your customized layout will come with a list of the parts needed for that installation. We'll also identify any challenges that are associated with your particular installation.
Irrigation Parts
You will need the parts to do your installation. Here again, you will find National Capital Irrigation Systems to be an economical option for buying your irrigation parts. We use only the highest quality Rain Bird parts in all of our systems, and can get these parts for you at an economical price. As these are premium irrigation products, you won't find them at your local "Big-Box" hardware store. We purchase these parts in bulk, so we can certainly pass on the savings to you. With Rain Bird parts, you are also getting an unbeatable warranty, with the highest quality parts in the industry. We sell all major brands of irrigation parts including Rainbird, Toro, Irritrol and Hunter to serve your preference.
Installation Options
When we started out, we used a combination of motorized trenchers and hand digging. Both did the job. Trenchers were quick at opening up a trench for laying the water lines, but created a great deal of work to finish properly.
Trenchers dig up the topsoil and the underlying soil (or whatever the developer dumped in as fill). You are left with that to use as fill for the trench, or you do it properly and dispose of much of the soil dislodged by the trencher and you fill the trench with good quality topsoil. Then there is the job getting the trench filled to the proper level- you don't want it sinking over time - and then planting grass seed and fertilizing. Hand trenching is simply arduous. It's a lot of hard work to dig the trenches - you are really in for an unpleasant experience unless you buy a proper trenching spade - and like trenching with a machine, the completion work is time consuming to do correctly.
When you're all done, you have a lawn that for some period shows clear evidence of every line you struggled to install!! Trust me, this isn't the way you want to spend your summer evenings and weekends. National Capital Irrigation Systems can bury your irrigation lines quickly and invisibly using a specialized vibratory plow. We can help you with your project by burying your irrigation lines according to the design. Unfortunately, these plows aren't in high enough demand for rental companies to carry them.
We can help you
