National Capital Irrigation Systems was started in 2002 by Craig de Schneider, while in his third-year of studies at the University of Ottawa. The company was launched with the support of the Ontario Government's "Summer Company" grant program, targeted toward young entrepreneurs.

From the outset the plan was to systematically build National Capital Irrigation into a highly respected provider of landscape irrigation systems and service. The emphasis was placed on providing homeowners and businesses with a system that completely met their expectations, and service that would encourage them to confidently recommend National Capital Irrigation Systems to their friends and associates.

We know that homeowners are seeking a long term solution to their watering needs. They do not want to replace watering responsibilities with repair calls to their system installer. Knowing that, our systems are quoted using the highest quality parts from Rain Bird Irrigation, an industry leader in residential and commercial irrigation products. Using these components ensures accurate and dependable sprinkler system operation for many seasons. We will install parts from other major suppliers if requested.

Installation and service have remained under the direct supervision of the company founder. The work is done by well-trained and supervised staff using today's best technology for burying irrigation tubing. When we complete a job there will be no obvious trace of the installation. We want inquisitive neighbours to ask you two questions. First, what are you doing to keep your lawn looking so good? Second, who did the irrigation system installation?
